Hi everyone,
I spoke with my mom just a few minutes ago and she said that might dad is progressing right on schedule. He was in some pain this morning but they have been able to get a handle on it with the pain medication.
At 9AM this morning, they removed the Angio balloon that has been in his artery that had the 100% blockage. He has to remain flat on his back for 6 hours while the opening in his groin area closes to ensure that he doesn't bleed from it.
At about 3PM this afternoon, they plan on getting him up to do some physical therapy. He will be walking around the current floor that he is on. If everything goes according to plan, they will move him to the Step Down Unit, which signifies that he is progressing on schedule.
It is likely that he will be discharged from the hospital on Saturday. Also, he does not have a phone in his room at this time as the nursing staff removed it so he can continue to rest. Feel free to contact me and I can pass along any messages you would like to him.
